Here is another wonderful client testimonial. Again, my client’s name has been left out to ensure client privacy.
I found the Embrace the Journey Facebook page about a month ago. I was 310 pounds, exhausted all the time and just sick and tired of being sick and tired. I have 5 kids, and I haven’t been out of the house with them besides the grocery store or school in quite some time. I thought that my life was doomed to be like this. I have seen many Facebook pages where the people who started them seem to have nothing but time on their hands to plan meals and workout. I don’t have the time or energy to devote, and if I did, I wouldn’t be 310 pounds. There are some days where getting from my bed to the couch is just too much and I just stay in bed. I used to work full time as a nurse, but since moving back to California a year ago, haven’t worked at all.
I found Pamela on Facebook, and signed up for the month. I thought perhaps she might have something new to bring to my life, seeing as she had been where I am. Even looking at her before pictures, we are built the same, and she had the same kind of life as me. Mom, wife, and overweight. After the first chat with Pamela, I felt something new. Something I hadn’t felt in at least 18 years. A feeling that I could do this. I took her advice, and tried as hard as I could to change. I will be the first to admit, I tried, but failed. We had a tragedy in our little community and it hit me hard. Pamela did not tell me that I was a failure, she did not tell me that I should try harder. She said she understood. She knew how things like this can get in the way of our success, but in the end, I was worth it. And for once in my life, I FELT worth it. I have family around me, but never feel as if I am worth doing things for me. I am just the person who takes care of them. Obviously my kids, they need me to, but my mother and husband treat me like it is my job to be here to solely take care of them. I know now that I cannot take care of them at all, nor my kids, if I am not well myself.
Long story short, after last week, my final week in the first 4 weeks, I signed on for another month. I would sign on for another year if I could. Pamela has shown me how to put myself first so that I can take care of my family, and myself. I am now 283 pounds, and have just had my first week of meeting all of my goals, and bought my first reward…comfy cozy socks. Next week I will do it again. And week after week, fail or succeed, I know that Pamela will be by my side guiding my food choices, my exercising and my life to help me be the best mom wife and person I can be. I have so much more energy, I now go to bed before midnight every night because I look forward to the next day. I can get out of the house and run errands, even just two days ago I did 4 or 5 errands and came home and didn’t go to bed and take a nap. I am eating clean, planning my meals, and exercising. My kids thank you, Pamela, for getting a new mom, and I thank you, my friend, for being there for me showing me the way to a healthy lifestyle.
